Sankar, an orphan adopted by the wealthy businessman Amar Chowdhury, remains fiercely loyal to his master. When Chowdhury’s biological sons desert him and his rival Rudraprasad Sen (played by Dulal Lahiri) burns down his factory to ruin him, Sankar becomes a successful actor to save his family's honor and their home, "Chowdhury Villa". As the family falls into poverty, Amar's biological children turn against him and slander Sankar. In a tactical move to protect him, Amar feigns anger and drives Sankar away. Sankar eventually becomes a successful actor and returns to reclaim the family home, "Chowdhury Villa," and restore his father's honor. Legacy and Remake Context
